What is the best type of party?
Here at the Paella Man, every paella party we cater for is different - always a unique blend of people, music, food, drinks and atmosphere. This means that we have seen numerous ways that our customers like to host their party, and one each works for them for a different reason.
Stand up 'Plate and Fork' party?
A stand up 'plate and fork' party is where where is no formal seating, guests are free to stand and mingle while they eat and drink. This set up works well if you have a diverse group of people that you want to keep talking and moving around the room. We serve the paella as more of a ‘side activity’ to the main event of the party.
Guests love this style and they can just wonder up to the chef for a chat and grab a plate of food. As there is no real formality to the event and people can come and go as they please, this is a great way to keep people mingling.
Great for 18th and 21st birthdays and engagement parties

Buffet?
This type of function has a little more structure and usually some formal seating arrangements. Guests come up to the paella pan table by table to be served then return to their table to eat. Usually the paella is just one of the dishes on offer, and either the host has provided other food or we have catered other meal options.
This works great when you have a large number or people to feed within a short time frame, and you have some formal time frames to keep, such as for speeches or cake cutting.
Ideal for large weddings or big family birthday parties.

A Sit Down Dinner?
One of our favourite ways to serve paella - as part of a seated meal. This is where your guests take a seat , usually at a long table, and we serve all food directly to them at the table, either individually plated or served share platter style. We usually recommend a three course meal, with either stand up or seated tapas to start. This is definitely the no fuss option as we take care of everything, form hire equipment, glassware, crockery and cutlery and we have service staff for bar and waiting service if you need.
This is perfect for small weddings and dinner parties.
